there's no real reason why i named this entry with that line. it just happened to be the line that was currently playing on my ipod. but now thinking about it, this is a great song. lemme show you:

chasing our dreams is just a distraction.
the months they dont matter.
...it's the days i can't take.
when the hours move to minutes ...
and i'm seconds away.
-new american classic, taking back sunday
so i'm pretty much obsessing over that song. look up the lyrics and melt.
the past three weeks have been a blur. i began the journey with a small inkling of excitment about going to my concert. even as the day approached it didn't hit me that i was going until it became a possibility that i may be late. besides that minor heart attack, it was such an amazing show. valora's sydnee duran is plain and simply amazing. rooney! what words can describe rooney. and finally those boys. what freakin' heartbreakers. favorite parts include them pranking rooney by dressing up as a banana and a gorilla and "chasing" eachother on the stage during Rooney's song, "I Am Afraid" (while holding a poster that says such), dancers coming out during 'Burning Up' and one of them being the infamous Ms. Kibble, Nicholas playing 'A Little Bit Longer' and my shameless tearing up, and finally the 'We Are The Champions' tribute to the entire crew and other performers because it was the last show of the tour.
After that amazing night, only a mere 3 days later, a beautiful girl named Stephanie passed away. It's such a wonderous feeling to know she was at that same show singing and dancing along with the people she loved and who loved her. My heart goes out to her friends and family.
The rest of that week went by with a mix of emotions: sadness for Steph's passing, happiness over my forthcoming summer, even anger for the lack of my ice cream fulfillment.
I've moved onto this week and have been watching bits and pieces of P.S. I Love You because I couldn't afford to sit 2 straight hours watching it. How sad, lol. Actually, I'll try and do that today or tomorrow at some point. Watch it, it's a great movie if you want to cry and laugh at the same time. All the irish accents in the movie have gotten me so excited to head to Ireland next spring. My beautiful Megan and I chatted about partying in her UNCLE's (hehe thanks for correcting me, meg) countryside manor. How sweet is that?
And to end this recap, I'll let you know that I'm recording an original song. I'm excited for people to hear it. It's been in the works for a couple weeks now (because of my busy schedule it get's pushed aside easily) and I need to put in a few more sessions of recording before it heads into mastermix mode.
God Bless.

we just need a little bit of hope.
so i've had a livejournal (or LJ) since I was about 14, but i only used it to browse around for icons and such. it wasn't until lately that i realized how much history LJ has. unlike this new and fanstically boring blogspot, LJ has been around for years. for me, it began with my love for the summer olympics four years ago. anyway, all that information is besides the point. i stumbled across this journal for a girl who will forever remain anonymous but has been coined by the public as "13". her journal is a reflection of her life, a girl struggling with an illness. it's really touching and everyone should at least read one of her entries. she was predicted to only live until february 2008, but has surged on through march.
after my mother was diagnosed with cancer in my senior year of highschool, i've become so much more aware and sympathetic of illnesses. like mentioned in my entries from the philippines, most of my prayers are for all of you. i pray for your well-being, your safety, your health, and happiness. the lowest point in my life was when i had to go with my mother every month to Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer center in Manhattan. it hurt so much just to sit there amongst other cancer patients, trying to be strong for them and more importantly for my mother. the pain of having someone close to you with a disease sometimes became unbearable, so i can't even grasp the idea of having the illness yourself. it's stories like "13"s that unite people in prayer and hope. so i shall pass on the torch, hopefully you do, too. her link is on my sidebar.
on a much, much happier note, I video-chatted with a friend from arizona last night and she brought to my attention the fact that my concert is a week away. it really hasn't hit me yet. it feels like it's still months away. i wish there was a word that could truly describe how i feel about my excitement but i can't seem to formulate right now. and to tie this all together with the story of "13", nick j will peform "a little bit longer" which is a song about his fight with diabetes. there won't be a dry eye from me during that song.
" Waitin' on a cure But none of them are sure A little bit longer and I'll be fine But you dont know what you got 'til it's gone And you dont know what its like to feel so low.And everytime you smile or laugh you glow You dont even know, know, know."
