it's already october and i haven't written since september 13th. but truthfully, there hasn't been anything interesting since then...ok, i lied.
i really have no excuse for not writing, especially since i have so much to share. so, hopefully this post will make up for it.
1. i turned 19. to celebrate my bithday, i worked. no lie. on the saturday before my birthday, i had planned to go to RainDance NYC. what the hell is that might you ask? well, it's dancing under the brooklyn bridge on pier 17 to afro-brazilian beats and live percussion. it woulda been really nice. however, tropical storm kyle threatened the plans so i cancelled it. what's worse is that i started a new job in the mall (Photolosophy) and i work saturdays, so had to close.
here comes the best part. my friend comes to pick me up and as we're making a turn to get empanadas, she drives into an ambulance. yes, an ambulance. a parked ambulance. here's the damage:
a scratch that we could have fixed with a sharpie. now here's my friend's damage:
yeouuch.
after that adventure, we went back to mi casa and had red velvet cake. superb. on the day of my actual birthday, september 29, harold and i went to Rock Battle NYC. new york's top 5 bands competed for a spot to open for Dashboard Confessional and Panic at the Disco at the Prudential Center. oh yeah, chris carraba was there <3>
2. i have my own radio show. this was the first week of P.M.S. (Politics, Music, and Sex). it airs every Thursday from 5:10-6:10pm on WSJU The Voice (or rather, St. John's University radio station). this week we (as in me and Camay, the REAL DJ) talked about Palin/Biden's debate (well, told everyone to tune in because it happened after our broadcast), dscussed Jessica Alba's "provocative" new ad for the Declare Yourself campaign. go to justjared.com for pictures. we also brought up Britney Speaers, Beyonce, and Justin Timberlake in the mix. i also introduced to St. John's radio, the band Racing Kites, and played their song 'Call it Sunrise'.
if you want to tune in, you most certainly can! you need to have the latest version of AIM (i know i didn't like change and had my AIM one of the oldest versions it had, lol). listen live on the WSJUradio aim profile =]. So add us! You can also IM us during the show: request a song (hopefully we have it to play it), talk about something we mentioned on air, or just say hey.
also, if you're looking to be "interviewed" hit me up on myspace/facebook. i'm going to be contacting bands to head up to the studio for exposure!
so don't forget to tune in! i'll have pictures of me and camay in the studio next week. =] oh, and here's the playlist from our first broadcast in no particular order:
play my music - camp rock soundtrack
in the ayer - flo rida ft. will.i.am/fergie
crush - david archuleta
let the drummer kick - citizen cope
damaged - danity kane
live your life - t.i. ft. rihanna
paper planes - m.i.a.
miss independent - neyo
disturbia - rihanna
call it sunrise - racing kites
3. mentioned in MTV Buzzworthy: so as you should know if you've been keeping up with my blog, that i'm the managing editor and write, as well, for a little online magazine called JOBROMANCE Magazine (yes, about the Jonas brothers, shut up). well, one of our writers (Megan) was able to interview the journalist from MTV about her 2-day live coverage of the boys back in August. now i had the opportunity to edit this specific article, and i'm glad that even though the mention was only because the blogger was the one being interviewd, it still feels cool.
so, if you haven't, go to www.jobromancemagazine.com and download the summer issue and this current issue for fall.
here's the MTV mention link:

4. my OWN magazine? my friend and i have been contemplating over creating our own online magazine for a while now and we may be making moves on it very soon. so, i'll put it out to there to my empty blogosphere world, that if you wish to be a part of it, just let me know. it'll be a mag about everything and anything.
5. BATTLE OF THE BANDS. ok, so since i'm officially unofficially helping to manage my boyfriend's band, here's my shameless plug of their upcoming show. keep OCTOBER 26 FREE! the band's name is FALL OF THE ALBATROSS (www.fallofthealbatross.com) and all you need to do is scream and support 'em at the show! here's my first attempt at making a flyer:

contact me if you need tickets.
anywho, this is a seriously long post and i plan to update this more frequently because of the radio show & online magazine business. KIT.
